Tower of London tickets
Pre-book your ticket and time slot (where applicable) online before you visit or purchase tickets on the day from the ticket office on Tower Hill. Audio guide tours in a choice of languages are available to purchase with your ticket.
A Tower of London admission ticket includes entry to:
- The Crown Jewels, The White Tower, Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula, Battlements, Medieval Palace, Bloody Tower, Torture at the Tower exhibition, Fusiliers Museum and Royal Mint exhibition.
Your ticket is valid for entry at any time from opening to last admission time, except during school holidays and during events, when half-hourly timeslots apply.

The Gunpowder Plot tickets
The Gunpowder Plot is a thrilling immersive experience created by Layered Reality and Historic Royal Palaces situated in Tower Vaults, alongside the Tower of London. Descend into the vaults and experience a ground-breaking combination of live action, virtual reality, and cutting edge technology including motion simulators, physical sensations and stunning special effects. Live actors, combined with a digital cast led by Harry Potter's Tom Felton, will transport you back to 1605 London and put you at the heart of the plot. Travel back in time in this feature length adventure (1h 40m) and experience history like never before.
You can purchase separate tickets to the experience for all ticket types via the Gunpowder Plot website or add a voucher for standard entry when you purchase your Tower admission ticket. For same day purchases, please go to The Gunpowder Plot experience booking kiosk or reception where staff can help with your request. Subject to availability and experience opening hours.

How it works:
- Vouchers for a £30 standard individual entry to The Gunpowder Plot can be added to your basket when purchasing a Tower of London admission ticket.
- You will receive a voucher which can be redeemed for a standard ticket by emailing Layered Reality guest services at [email protected] with TOL X Gunpowder Plot and your unique reference number in the subject of your email. Include the full name of the lead booker, number of guests and your preferred date and time.
- Opening dates and times for The Gunpowder Plot vary, with up to 28 shows a day on Fridays, Saturdays and selected Thursdays and Sundays and are subject to availability. Please visit The Gunpowder Plot website for more details.
If you would like to visit both the Tower and The Gunpowder Plot on the same day, please do not add a Gunpowder Plot voucher when purchasing a Tower admission ticket as availability cannot be guaranteed. Please book tickets for The Gunpowder Plot separately on The Gunpowder Plot website or at The Gunpowder Plot experience booking kiosk. Subject to availability.
Please note that the purchase of a voucher is not a guarantee of entry. We strongly advise that you do not make any travel, accommodation, or other arrangements until you have received confirmation of your booking from The Gunpowder Plot.
Please allow 2 hours for the full experience and arrive 30 minutes before your allocated time slot.

HOW TO GET TICKETS YOU'VE BOUGHT ONLINE
Receive tickets by email or print at home
- Download your PDF ticket to your mobile for scanning at the entrance or
- Click the link in the email that we’ll send you and print out all your tickets
If you are not able to download your e-tickets using the link in your confirmation email, please show your reference number which begins 42xxxxxxxxx to the ticket desk when you arrive and staff on site will be able to print your tickets for you.
How to get a carer ticket
Complimentary adult carer tickets can be obtained on the day of your visit upon presentation of proof of registered disability (such as a Blue Badge, Freedom Pass, DLA letter or PIP letter).
Adult carer/companion tickets are also available to book online.
Only one carer ticket can be added per booking but each disabled visitor can bring one person with them free of charge as a carer/companion. If your party requires more than one carer ticket, please book your paid tickets online and email [email protected] with your booking reference number and all proof of need. We will be happy to reserve the additional carer tickets for your party at no extra cost.
£1 TICKETS FOR THE TOWER OF LONDON
£1 tickets for a day visit to the Tower of London are available to anyone in receipt of the following:
- Universal Credit
- Working Tax Credit
- Child Tax Credit
- Pension Credit
- Employment and Support Allowance
- Income Support
- Jobseeker’s Allowance
You can claim £1 tickets for up to six people per household. Only one person per household needs to show supporting documents.
Tickets must be booked online in advance to guarantee entry and avoid disappointment. Visitor numbers are limited and many dates and timeslots are sold out in advance.
If you can't find £1 tickets for the date you wish to book, this date is sold out but further dates are available.

Local residents within the borough of Tower Hamlets can visit the Tower of London for only £1.00.
The offer is valid all year round. Only one ticket per adult can be purchased per day. Adults can purchase additional tickets for up to 3 children for £1.00. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets can only be purchased on the day from our ticket office. During peak times such as school holidays and events, we are now operating with timeslots with a limited capacity. If a timeslot is full, you will be put on the next available timeslot.
Adults need to bring proof of address (utility bill, council tax bill, driver’s licence etc) with them to the ticket office. Please note this offer cannot be used for event tickets such as Ceremony of the Keys.
