Chief Curator Lucy Worsley is joined by fellow Historic Royal Palaces curators Charles Farris and Joanna Marschner, and Director of Public Engagement Tom O’Leary for a special one hour talk to mark the Platinum Jubilee.

From street parties to souvenirs and parades to pageants, events to celebrate the reign of a monarch date back centuries, and as HM The Queen marks 70 years on the throne in 2022, join us for a look at how jubilees have been marked through time, right up to the present day.

Covering everything from the Golden Jubilee of George III in 1809 to Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897, and even a sneak peek at plans to turn the historic moat at the Tower of London into a field of flowers this summer, it promises to be a truly unmissable event!

This event is free to join, but we ask you to consider making a donation of £10 or whatever you can afford.

Historic Royal Palaces is a self-funding charity, and the Coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating impact on us. We experienced a £100 million shortfall in our finances over the last year, so if you love the palaces and believe in what we do, we have never needed your support more.

Historic Royal Palaces is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (Registered Charity No. 1068852).
