Kensington Palace

A palace of secret stories and public lives

The newly-transformed Kensington Palace is now open following a two-year, £12million refurbishment.

Explore our new gardens, shops, café and terrace as well as four redesigned visitor routes revealing both the secret and public lives of Kensington's inhabitants.

Discover stories from Queen Victoria's life told in her own words in the new Victoria Revealed exhibition; master the games of royal court in the magnificent King's State Apartments; get a glimpse of a modern Princess in a small but special exhibition of some of Diana's dresses and uncover the secrets of a fragile dynasty in the beautiful Queen's State Apartments. A new lift makes the Palace accessible to all and, for the first time, kids under 16 go free.

The £12 million transformation has been possible due to the generous support of the Heritage Lottery Fund, several trusts, foundations and individual donors and members of the public who have donated to our appeal.
