Your first few weeks may differ depending on the palace or department you are working in. Some have longer induction programmes than others, but the advice is still the same.
This time is all about starting off well and laying the right foundations so that you can fulfil the role you have been recruited to do and feel part of Historic Royal Palaces.
We want you to improve and develop whilst with Historic Royal Palaces. We do this so that you can really fulfil your potential and enjoy what you do. You will receive training to make sure that you're kept up to date and have the skills you need to do your job well.
We encourage all of our employees to take advantage of the wide range of learning opportunities on offer at Historic Royal Palaces — from our extensive in-house development workshops to job shadowing, mentoring, working as part of various project teams, one-to-one coaching, as well as any specialist training.
We have a Learning and Development team, supplemented by relationships with a range of external trainers, developers, suppliers and internal coaches and mentors.
We encourage employees to work towards professional and vocational qualifications, and are willing to discuss financial support and/or study leave for relevant courses of study.
Historic Royal Palaces believes passionately in developing its leaders and managers. Our leadership programmes, accredited by the ILM, are designed to help managers and team leaders better understand their own performance in relation to the leadership behaviour expected of them.
