Imprisonment and execution
Many prisoners have been imprisoned and executed at the Tower throughout history. Hear true stories of famous prisoners like the two young princes, Anne Boleyn and Guy Fawkes.

The Medieval Palace

The Crown Jewels
Before you see the Jewels themselves, discover more about this priceless collection of treasures that are still in use today and hear the fascinating history behind them.

The Tower’s beginnings
Uncover the Norman origins of the White Tower, built by William the Conqueror nearly 1000 years ago. Did you know that the White Tower was built along the remains of Roman city walls?

Life at the Tower
Hear from our Yeoman Warders about the ancient ceremonies they perform every day and what it’s like to live inside a royal fortress.

Family tour
Visit must-see parts of the Tower on our new light-hearted family tour in the company of two young ghostly guides. Gaze wide-eyed at the Crown Jewels and climb the 1,000-year-old White Tower as they lead you to the 'best bits', reveal unheard stories and introduce you to Tower residents from the past; from Anne Boleyn to a rabble of raucous ravens and Ranulph Flambard who escaped the Tower. Route and times are the same as our Highlights tour. Currently in English only.

Alternative tales from the Tower
Listen to stories, poetry and interviews created by young people invited to explore the Tower’s stories, from the past and present. Moving tales of the prisoners of the Tower are brought to life via spoken word, while young people from Spotlight Youth Centre in Tower Hamlets share stories from behind the scenes at the Tower. Currently in English only.
