Opening times

Hillsborough Castle and Gardens is open Thursday -Sunday, including bank holidays, except 24-26 December.


Summer - Castle and gardens (01 April - 27 September)

Thursday - Sunday: 10.00 - 17:00

Last admission: 16:00


Winter - Gardens only (28 September - 31 March)

Thursday - Sunday: 10:00 - 16:00

Last admission: 15:00

Stable Yard Shop

The Stable Yard Shop is temporarily closed until further notice.

The Hillsborough Castle Shop in the Weston Pavilion is open.

Stable Yard Tea Room

The Stable Yard Tea Room is temporarily closed until further notice.

Hillsborough Cafe is open.

Hillsborough Castle Village entrance

The entrance to the castle grounds via Hillsborough village is closed to everybody.

All other access is via the Weston Pavilion (entrance just off the A1. Please check our Getting here page for more information).

Enter the castle grounds through this 18th-century walled garden, which has been expertly restored using traditional methods.

A group of visitor enjoy a wander around the Granville Garden in the grounds of Hillsborough Castle on a warm Summers Day. The open iron gates of the garden are visible in the foregrouns and a blue clouded sky above is in start contract to the bright green of Europe's largest rhododendron, also visible behind the garden.
