Closures and notices

Hillsborough Castle Village entrance

There is a pedestrian entrance to the gardens from Hillsborough village and it is open to members and pre-booked ticket holders only.

All other access is via the Weston Pavilion (entrance just off the A1. Please check our Getting here page for more information).

The Stable Yard Shop and The Tea Room

Please note that the Stable Yard Shop and the Stable Yard Tea Room is temporarily closed until further notice.

Lady Alice's Temple, looking west across the terrace and pond. 

This domed temple was given as a wedding gift to Lady Alice Hill by her brother, the 5th Marquess of Downshire in 1867. A circular seat inside the temple sits behind a screen of Ionic columns.
Things to see

Take a seat in this 19th-century temple and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding gardens.
