Tickets for castle tours and the gardens are included in Historic Royal Palaces membership. These tours must be booked in advance by phone.

In return for their support, our members can explore our historic royal palaces as many times as they like, all year round.

Entry to Hillsborough Castle is by guided tour only. Tours run for 45 minutes. The first tour begins at 10:00 and the last tour begins at 16:30.

If purchasing Family tickets you will receive a single ticket which will permit entry to the number of people in the party (dependent upon the ticket you select).

Hillsborough Castle and Gardens Food Festival

What's included in my ticket?

The castle tour and gardens

The castle guided tours provide a group tour of the late Georgian mansion, which also includes entry to the Downshire Gallery. You will also get access to the palace gardens on the day of your visit.

The gardens only

Wander through 100 acres of beautiful gardens and visit sites such as the Quaker Burial Ground, Lady Alice's Temple, Lake and Ice House. This ticket does not include entry to the castle.

How long are my tickets valid for?

Tickets purchased in advance are valid for the selected date only and are non-transferable. Castle tours begin at the time stated on the ticket. Garden tickets are valid all day.
