Groups and £1 tickets
Group visit tickets
Group visits are available for groups of 15 or more for both combined Castle and Garden tickets or Gardens-only tickets all year round.
£1 tickets
£1 tickets for a day visit available to anyone in receipt of certain named benefits: Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, Pension Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance.

£1 tickets
You can claim £1 tickets for up to four people per household. Only one person per household needs to show supporting documents.
Gardens tickets must be booked online in advance to guarantee entry and avoid disappointment. Visitor numbers are limited and many dates and time slots are sold out in advance. If you would like to join a tour of the castle, we can upgrade your ticket on the day of your visit (subject to availability), at no extra charge.
If you can't find £1 tickets for the date you wish to book, this date is sold out but further dates are available.
Please note, £1 tickets cannot be used in conjunction with the child summer ticket offer.

How to get tickets you've bought online
Receive tickets by email or print at home
- Click the link in the email that we’ll send you and print out all your tickets or
- Download your PDF ticket to your mobile to show at the entrance.
If you are not able to download your e-tickets using the link in your confirmation email, please show your reference number to the ticket desk when you arrive and staff on site will be able to print your tickets for you.
Disabled adults should purchase a concession ticket, and disabled children and young people should purchase the ticket for their age group. All disabled visitors can book a free carer/companion ticket.
Disabled children under 5 do not need a ticket but are still eligible for a complimentary carer/companion ticket. This can be collected from the Ticket Office on the day of your visit.
Proof of disability or support needs is required for all carer/companion tickets (for example, a Blue Badge, Access Card, Freedom Pass, DfC / DLA letter or PIP letter).
Book a carer or companion ticket online
A carer/companion ticket can be added to your online order when purchasing a disabled concession, young person, or child ticket.
If the disability requires more than one accompanying carer, up to 2 tickets can be selected. Carer tickets will be reserved with your online booking but will need to be collected at the ticket office when you visit. You will need to bring supporting documentation with you regarding the disability.
Booking more than one carer or companion ticket
If your party requires more than one carer/companion ticket, please book your paid tickets online and email [email protected] with your booking reference number and supporting documents. We will be happy to reserve the additional carer tickets for your party at no extra cost.
