Castle and gardens ticket prices

You can choose tickets for either the Castle and gardens combined or Gardens only . Tickets for the Honey Fair weekend 21-22 August 2021 are available now.

Please pre-book your ticket and time slot online before you visit. You can also purchase tickets on the day at our ticket office. If you are booking for the Imaginary Menagerie play trail, you can select a Castle and gardens ticket or scroll down for a Gardens only ticket.

Dogs are not permitted within the castle gardens unless they are registered assistance dogs. Under 5s go free and do not need a ticket.

A castle and gardens ticket includes:

  • Entry to the castle
  • Entry to 100 acres of world-famous royal gardens including our Imaginary Menagerie play trail, the 18th-century Walled Garden, Granville Garden, Lady Alice's Temple and the Lost Garden
  • Free car parking

The time slot you select will be your entry time for the castle, however you can enter the gardens at any time on the day of your visit, from first admission at 10.00. Entrance to the castle is via the State Entrance. We recommend allowing 30-45 minutes to make your way from the car park to the castle entrance for the start of your visit.

Gardens-only ticket prices

Please pre-book your ticket and time slot online before you visit. You can also purchase tickets on the day at our ticket office. You will not be able to enter the gardens without a valid ticket, but can arrive at any time within your chosen time slot. The duration of your visit is not restricted in any way.

Historic Royal Palaces is the self-funding charity which cares for Hillsborough Castle and Gardens. The 'with donation' price in the table includes an optional 10% donation towards our charitable work. How to get tickets you've bought online

For tickets purchased online, you can choose from the following two delivery options:

Receive tickets by email or print at home

  1. Click the link in the email that we’ll send you and print out all your tickets or
  2. Download your PDF ticket to your mobile to show at the entrance.

If you are not able to download your e-tickets using the link in your confirmation email, please show your reference number which begins 421xxxxxxxx to the ticket desk when you arrive and staff on site will be able to print your tickets for you.

How to book a carer ticket

Visitors are entitled to bring an accompanying carer free of charge. These complimentary adult carer tickets can be obtained on the day of your visit upon presentation of proof of registered disability.
