Terms and Conditions

Competition opens 03 July 2026. To enter, complete the online entry form by 23 August 2026.

This exclusive competition is open to Historic Royal Palaces members only. 

1. The Promoter

The promoter is: HISTORIC ROYAL PALACES of HAMPTON COURT PALACE, SURREY, KT8 9AU.

2. The competition

2.1 The title of the competition is: Beano Hidden Gnasher Competition.

3. How to enter

3.1 The competition will run from 00:01 on 01 July 2026 (the “Opening Date”) to 23:59 on 23 August 2026 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.

3.2 All competition entries received by the Promoter before the Opening Date or after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.

3.3 To enter the competition, entrants must:
(a) complete the online entry form via the link provided
(b) provide their full name and email address 
(c) submit an answer to the competition question by the Closing Date.

3.4 Entries submitted in any other way will not be accepted

3.5 The Promoter will not accept responsibility for competition entries not received for whatever reason. 

3.6 By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

3.7 There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

3.8 The competition winners will be selected at random by a member of the Historic Royal Palaces Membership Team from all valid entries received before the Closing Date.

3.9 The Gnasher shown on the front cover of the magazine does not count towards the total.

4. Eligibility

4.1 The competition is open to residents of the UK aged 16 years and over, except:
(a) employees of Historic Royal Palaces;
(b) employees of agents or suppliers of Historic Royal Palaces who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; and
(c) members of the immediate families or households of those listed above.

4.2 The competition is only open to individuals who are named Historic Royal Palaces members at the time of the Closing Date and who remain active members at the time the winners are selected.

4.3 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require proof of eligibility.

4.4 Historic Royal Palaces will not accept competition entries that are:
(a) automatically generated by computer;
(b) completed by third parties or submitted in bulk.

4.5 There is a limit of one entry per membership. Entries on behalf of another person and joint submissions are not permitted.

4.6 Historic Royal Palaces reserves the right to disqualify any entrant whose conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the competition.

4.7 Competition entries cannot be returned.

5. The prize

5.1 One (1) winner will receive a Beano prize bundle, which includes a selection of official Beano merchandise, games, books, clothing, accessories and party items.

5.2 Five (5) runners-up will each receive one copy of the Beano Annual 2026.

5.3 Prize bundle may vary slightly from those described or pictured in promotional materials.

5.4 There is no cash alternative and prizes are non-transferable.

5.5 Historic Royal Palaces reserves the right to substitute any prize for one of equal or greater value.

6. Winner announcement

6.1 Winners will be notified by email no later than 31 August 2026 (the Announcement Date). 

6.2 The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

6.3 The winning entries will be contacted via email to the email address provided on entry.

7. Claiming the prize

7.1 Winners will have 7 (seven) days from the date of notification to confirm acceptance of the prize.

7.2 The prize may not be claimed by a third party on the winner’s behalf.

7.3 The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact winners. If a winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within 7 days, or declines the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to an alternative eligible entrant.

7.4 Historic Royal Palaces does not accept responsibility if a winner is unable to take up the prize.

7.5 Once a winner has confirmed acceptance of the prize in accordance with clause 7.1, the prize will be dispatched by post within fourteen (14) days, unless otherwise notified by the Promoter.

7.6 The prize will be sent to the postal address held on the winner's Historic Royal Palaces account at the time of dispatch. It is the responsibility of winners to ensure that their contact details are accurate and up to date. Historic Royal Palaces accepts no responsibility for non-delivery of a prize due to incorrect, incomplete or outdated information. 

7.7 Historic Royal Palaces accepts no responsibility for any prize that is lost, delayed, misdirected, damaged, not received, or otherwise unable to be delivered due to circumstances outside its reasonable control, including but not limited to postal or courier failures. Risk in the prize passes to the winner upon dispatch. Once the prize has been dispatched, Historic Royal Palaces shall have no further responsibility or liability in relation to the prize’s delivery, non-delivery, or condition in transit.

8. Limitation of liability

8.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, Historic Royal Palaces, its agents or distributors will not be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize, except where caused by the negligence of the Promoter or its employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

9. Ownership of competition entries and intellectual property rights

9.1 All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Promoter will become the property of Historic Royal Palaces on receipt.

10. Data protection and publicity

10.1 If you are a winner, you agree that Historic Royal Palaces may use your name and town or county of residence to announce the winner and for other reasonable and related promotional purposes.

10.2 Historic Royal Palaces must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation, we will send the surname and county of the prize winner/s to anyone who emails [email protected] requesting this information, within one month after the final competition entry date. 

10.3 By entering the competition, you agree that any personal information provided may be held and used by Historic Royal Palaces or its agents solely for the administration of this competition, in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

11. General

11.1 If there is reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, exclude any entrant from participating in the competition.

11.2 Historic Royal Palaces reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

11.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11.4 Historic Royal Palaces reserves the right to change or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will take effect immediately upon posting.
