Celebrate Christmas and wrap up in your finest festive knits!
Members are invited to gather on the frosty steps outside St Malachy’s Church in Hillsborough. We’ll begin with a glorious peal of bells ringing out across the village, before local musicians lead us in a host of favourite carols as we set off on a candlelit walk towards the Christmas tree outside the State Entrance of the Castle. Here we’ll gather together for traditional carols, a warm drink and a sweet treat — the perfect way to celebrate the season and share some Christmas cheer.
Starting at 16:00, it’s the perfect opportunity to pick up the kids from school and come along together for a little festive magic. Bring family and friends along to enjoy a taste of membership, and come ready with your best festive spirit and boldest singing voices.
Important information
The gardens will close at 16:00, after which, entrance will be permitted for this event only. As this event finishes after-hours, parking in the Weston Pavilion Visitor Centre car park is not available.
We recommend visitors walk where possible. Some on street parking is available in the village or there is a public car park at the junction where Main Street, Lisburn Street and Ballynahinch Street meet.
Please note, the route from St Malachy’s Church to the State Entrance of the Castle will involve a slightly longer walk than in previous years, including a steep hill. If this may be difficult for you, please contact [email protected] in advance and we can arrange an alternative.
