Halloween at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens FAQs

Tickets can be purchased through the website, onsite at the Hillsborough entrance or by calling +44 (0)20 3166 6000.

Please note these tickets are separate from the normal gardens or castle tour tickets.

Historic Royal Palace members can purchase discounted tickets by logging in.

Subject to availability, we will endeavor to move to you a later time, but please note the last available walk commences at 20:00. There will be no admissions after this time.

This show is aimed at all ages and families.

We cannot let children attend the event without the supervision of an accompanying adult. The term children refers to those aged under 16 years.

Yes you can!

The walk through the gardens will last approx. 45 minutes – finishing at the back at the main café in the Weston Pavilion where a range of hot beverages will be available to purchase.

If it rains the event will go ahead. The event will only be cancelled if the weather conditions present a danger. In the unlikely event that the event is cancelled, we will aim to give as much notice as possible, so please check the website for information if the weather looks poor.

Please dress appropriately for weather conditions on the evening. This is an outdoor event at night and there is a considerable amount of walking on sometimes uneven and steep ground.

There is no cover available in the event of rain. Also please note that the ground may be damp and so waterproof shoes might be preferable. It is Halloween so fancy dress is also encouraged.

For the best experience of the event we strongly recommend that you arrive via the A1 entrance and park in the free public car park. The trail will begin from the entrance to the Visitor Centre. Pedestrian only entry is possible from The Square in Hillsborough Village, but for the best experience we recommend entry from the A1.

There is also a Changing Places toilet available in the Pineapple Yard.

Yes, pushchairs are welcome at the event. But please note the paths can be uneven and steep in places.

Baby changing facilities are available in both the male and female toilets in the Pineapple Yard, Garden Toilets and Stable Yard. 

No. As Halloween at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens is a walking trail following a step-free route, the people mover will not be running.
