Experience our evening curator talks with Polly Putnam and Lee Prosser and learn more about Kew Palace. Discover fascinating insights from the history of this former royal residence.

Exclusive Kew Palace Access

On arrival guests will be escorted to the palace and will be free to explore the rooms used by Queen Charlotte and her family during their time here. This provides an exclusive opportunity to view the space once it has closed to the public for the day.

Guests will then join our curators in the intimate and atmospheric setting of the Palace Undercroft for an exclusive presentation from Polly or Lee.

Pre-booked ticket holders only. Tickets to Royal Botanic Gardens Kew are not required, guests will meet at Elizabeth Gate for access to this Kew Palace event only.

More about our Curators

Polly Putnam, Collections Curator

Polly Putnam is the curator for collections at Historic Royal Palaces with special responsibility for the Royal Buildings at Kew. She also worked as historical advisor for the Netflix drama Queen Charlotte; a Bridgerton Story.

Polly will give a talk on the life of Queen Charlotte who was married to King George III. This will provide an overview of the life of this fascinating and successful Queen consort with particular reference to her life at Kew Palace.

Polly will also share her experience of being a historical advisor to the show. The evening will conclude with an opportunity for guests to join Polly in a Q&A.

The bold grey wig and accompanying tiara, which were worn in the Netflix series, is showcased in Queen Charlotte's dressing room, alongside a lock of the real Queen Charlotte's hair.
