Medieval Palace is closed until 24 May 2025. Chapel Royal is closed until mid-June 2025.

Quieter times

The Tower of London is quieter in the afternoons, after midday. We recommend allowing up to two or three hours for the best experience. Last entry is at 16:30 and the buildings close at 17:30.

Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula

The Chapel Royal of St Peter Ad Vincula is a working community chapel, which means it may be subject to closures. Please check here for any upcoming closures.

Wharf opening times

The Wharf is open daily: 07:00-19:00 unless stated below.

  • Closed until 08:45 on Tuesday 11 August

  • Closed until 08:30 on Thursday 20 August

  • Closed from 17:30 on Thursday 27 August

The Wharf will close at 18:00 on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 11 August 2026

  • Saturday 29 August 2026

Gun salutes

Please note the Wharf will close at least an hour before the gun salutes and there will be no access to the parts of the Wharf during the set up and duration of the gun salutes. Gun salutes take place at 13.00 and consist of 62 rounds unless otherwise stated.

The Wharf will also close the evening before each gun salute (from 18.00 to 21.00) for rehearsals. 

Please note, the 13.00 Yeoman Warder Tour will be cancelled when a gun salute is taking place. They recommence at 13.30.
