About this day
A unique opportunity for GCSE and A-Level Students to explore careers in History and Arts inspired by the lives of the six queens.
Inspired by our Teach the Six Queens Differently campaign, this careers day will look at some of different roles throughout Hampton Court Palace that involve History and Arts.
Students will all get the chance to:
Speed network with Historic Royal Palaces staff to find out more about their careers, how they got there and any advice they would give
See live performances by historical interpreters and attend a workshop to think about how these are created
Take part in various drop-in workshops looking at roles from needlework to conservation
Handle costumes from SIX the Musical to understand more about the process of creating them
Explore the Palace with a trail to find evidence of the many jobs that keep Hampton Court Palace running
This careers day is being developed using the Gatsby Benchmarks and will have elements of Active Work Experience.
More details, including a full timetable and map of activities, will be sent to schools in advance.
Please note:
For workshops students will be divided into groups of approximately 25–30. Groups may include students from different schools, and students from the same school may be divided between groups. GCSE and A-Level students will be in separate groups.
If you are unable to attend or no longer require your full allocation, please let us know as soon as possible and at least six weeks before the event. This will allow us to offer places to schools on the waiting list and avoid charges where applicable.
